You Make the Art, They Ship the Products

You all have been asking me which company I use to sell art in my Etsy shop and lo and behold my favorite company, Gelato, asked me to share some of their products with you all!  In this post I’ll share the basics of how I use Gelato in my Etsy shop to create custom printed products shipped directly to my customers.  Easy for me, simple for my customers.  Win, win!

I say no to 99% of the sponsorship requests that come into my email box, but when I already use a company nearly every day for my business, it’s kind of a no-brainer that sharing them with you all is a great decision!

When you use Gelato, all you have to do is make the art and list it for sale.  They do the printing and shipping so you never have to stock inventory or worry about print flaws!  I started selling calendars with Gelato last year, and since then, my Etsy shop has suddenly become so easy to run. Unlike some others I tried in the past, their products are super high quality, and their shipping is reliable, so I don’t end up fielding a bunch of angry messages and bad reviews.

Let’s start with the basics before we dive into specific products.

what is gelato?

Gelato is a print-on-demand company that prints high quality products for you as your customers order them, then they take care of the shipping while you go make more art!  After trying other companies, I settled on Gelato, a POD service I’ve used for over a year to sell over 350 calendars in 2023. Gelato offers global production centers, high-quality products, and seamless integration with platforms like Etsy and Shopify. Their customer service is top-notch, ensuring your customers receive the best experience.

So, how do you get started?

Personally I like to start out by seeing the products in person, because pictures are great but feeling the products in your hands gives you a much better idea of the quality, shipping containers, and how your artwork looks on each product.

First up, mugs!  I love the wide selection of shapes they offer, and the print comes out crisp and clean (not pixelated like I’ve seen from some other companies!).

Their phone cases are also a great product for illustrators and pattern designers alike.  They offer a lot of different sizes and materials, so you can choose the model that fits your style most.

If you know me at all, you know I love cards!  Gelato’s cards are gorgeous, vibrant prints that come with a high quality envelope in packs of 5.  A perfect choice for card sets like party invitations, thank you cards, or holiday cards.

While they do offer the standard art prints on paper that many customers know and love, they also offer some unique art print options like my personal favorite – the acrylic print!  This little guy does not fade or bend no matter how aggressively your customer opens their package.

This is just the tip of the iceberg y’all!  Gelato has so many different products that would look great with artwork you probably already have on your iPad!  Sign up using this link if you’d like to get 50% off your first order made within 72 hours of singing up.

Ok, ready to start selling?

I’ve been selling my calendars using Gelato for over a year and every time I get a sale I let out a little sigh of relief knowing that it will be shipped on time and I don’t have to do the work.  After shipping items for my Etsy shop for years, I can really appreciate this hands off experience considering how much time can be wasted on packing and shipping orders.
